Hey Shal

Can we get a limited flush? Anything that hasn't been used in last 1-2 weeks maybe?

Lot of limited stuck on unused characters, incl the Dusk which is on a character that has not been played at all.... god knows where I stashed that for it to be found.

Is it possible to increase the limited item amounts in the game. Perhaps make them unlimited chance of a drop?

It seems all the limited items have been harvested from the game and are likely sitting on a guildhall floors etc

I suppose people could beg for them and kind souls would give them out, however I'd prefer to gain them from a monster drop as that is a prime reason play, the random chance of obtaining an item from a boss etc.

Just a thought on how to enhance the game a little.

Hey Shalafi,

This is Cthulhu/Dranok. I just logged back into the game after a small break and noticed your gossip that we can have 2 dupes now. I already have an account named Devilution, who was once used for the T-Lord tornament a long time ago when the mud was reset. Could you just give that account access to mud so I don't have to create a 4th account to play mud?

I'm not sure if this affects play at all but wanted to know if anyone has seen this at all before:

It happens nearly every time and I have played bards before and never seen it

Looks like it happens when it is already cast on a chara. So I tried it with MITE and AGIL.. AGIL worked, MITE failed every time.

So...are we playing off the most recent ver of MMUD? and if not, is there anything about bard spells in the release notes for following versions? Can anyone help?

Don't see it actually affecting play atm, not seriously anyhow. But I am curious. The only one I had seen before is sometimes being able to train with heroism cast on you...and then you have to reallocate all CPs.

Hey I know Hodor brought up the topic buying lives before and figure it may have had something to do with his quitting...it's getting really hard to have a stab at the harder bosses and script the harder areas without being able to buy lives... I mean I am on 62 with enough experience for like 66 or so - just so I can hoard lives. It's even harder with my druid room scripting - one moment of lag and boom...and when you don't know when you can next get a party for the hydra, it's pretty screwed up! So any chance you can throw that option on for a runic or two? At least then we would be game to give that bastard a try with just four peeps.

Maybe it will get easier when some more guys can get up around 60ish, but they're not going to be able to train past 54 without mine and Tos' druid/mage help anyhow :)

So...

Me and some fellow board mates were talking today. Since there really isn't too much action on the board, could we take a vote to open up the board to allow one more dupe?

I mean, we're focusing on some end came things and I got a healer and DPS, but it would be GREAT to have a spell caster. Like a mage for room spells or bard for buffs. Me and Jimmy, manning, cthulu and marvel play at keys a lot and make boss runs frequently. We could also accomplish a lot more if we had another account.

Let me know what you think. I don't see why it would matter. It's not like anyone would DIE or something.

Trying to work out if the laen longsword actually drops. MajorMud Explorer says the fallen angel drops it (5%). But I seem to remember it being a hack or having to be enabled or being in a particular update or something...?

mudcentral also lists it:

Hi Shal

Need a status on some lims. Hit hydra today and stashed some very very precious limiteds outside his room. When we came back out they weren't there. Ice crystal staff being the key. Worried they poofed. Very important to my druid as the fat hog needs his mana regen. Definitely stashed them outside the room. Need to know if they poofed because it took all the satisfaction out of beating the hydra and getting our death piles back from his room. I know it sounds odd, but I have had duplicate lims appear in my gh before so I wouldn't be surprised at random limited poofing.

BTW, I threw a helmet your way at the slime beast - should boost your AC. Platinum greathelm. We can add to that, depending on your free encumbrance.

EDIT - My dumbarse gang member picked up my items on auto collect and apparently couldn't read his inventory until I held a tree trunk to his throat.. Soooooooooooooooooo ignore this, I got the gear!

I feel like I post on here like 20 times a week, but I dropped somewhere so if anyone reads this I could use some help. Need some higher levels. Ill keep Sil logged in, but drift is -3 in a boss room with all Sil's stuff.

Hello!

I've been fortunate to get to level 20 on my cleric and missionary, and was hoping a few pieces of gear might be floating around (I looked up non-limited, as I assume the limited stuff is all in use).

Here's my wish list, if anyone has spares or can direct me to the place to find them :)

3 golden chalice (2 for quest, one for missionary to use)
2 head of goru-nezar

carved ivory mask (for cleric)
golden snake earrings (for missionary)
ogre bone bracelet (for cleric)
emerald studded bracelet (for missionary)
black leather belt (for missionary)

I think everything else I found is just a money grind, which I'm currently working on.

I appreciate ya'll taking the time to review, even if none of the items are currently available :)

Now when I try and login it says, "Your user ID appears to be connected to this system already..." and it won't let me log in at all.

Been like this for the past 12 hours. I tried resetting my computer, megamud, settings and still got nothing.

Im assuming the BBS thinks my ip address is still logged in? When I try and put in the password it just says its invalid.

Any fixes you guys can think of?

I was hoping to finish the high druid quest, unfortunately he was there with friends...

Neither is dead yet, but one is critically low and the other is negative, so if I log either on they're dead, and I don't know how to get back to my stuff if I die :(

I am staying at my moms house for the month and she has a different ISP than I used to have, but would that cause problems with the outbound telnet?

Is there a setting in her router I would need to change to access telnet?

New here, glad to find MajorMUD again.

Quick question, if anyone has time?

I have a cleric and missionary - I know most (or all) limited items are likely in use, could anyone give me some pointers on decent low-level non-limited upgrades?

I am trying to remember, I just can't think of much (and MegaMUD searches only work if I know what I'm looking for, really).

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated :)

There are no lims dropping from bigger bosses and I have run out of lims to give to low levels. I think it is time to reset the floors in the realm. I am also about to flush limiteds from our gh vault so people can score them. I will announce on gossip or forums what I flush.

should get a few days warning though if you are going to do it though

So I'm new to the bbs. I have a ninja and druid who script together. Today I was working on the 1st good alignment quest and died. I tried getting help but megamud wasn't giving commands out for people and well, I died and lost everything I had. I have a friend that plays on your board, but I ran into an issue trying to join up.

I use a megamud hosting service mud.skullopoly.com and when I connect it's saying there is already someone logged in from the hosting services IP. I was hoping we can get a whitelisting for the service so I can play on your board as well.

I think we need to revisit this subject. Right now I have stopped training because I am saving that for lives if I need them. I think there needs to be a way of purchasing lives. I'd be ok with like 2 a month or something... Some way so that I can train to 75 without having to worry about rolling myself.

Server Crash and 1 Day Reset (no replies)

The server crashed and cause some players to lose items.

Since it was a good deal of limited items, I thought it was in best interest to reset the server 24 hours.

I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

Please let me know if this reset has effected you greatly, and I Will do what I can to help remedy the situation.

Also in order to help people regain their "footing" if you will, I have disabled PVP for one day.
